Today, we’re announcing Lorebook v3: featuring a refreshed UI, multi-select entries, tabbed settings, a docking system, and a reworked Lorebook Generation! And more…

Lorebook Generation Overhaul:
We’ve created a dedicated module for much improved Lorebook generation results.
Want to stay with the old one instead?
You may want to do this if you want to use your AI module to influence the generation. To do this, enable the Legacy Lore Generation Setting found in the Default Settings menu. This will switch to the old generation method that uses your story’s set AI module.
Generation Context:
The most recent story text (up to around 2500 characters) can now be utilized by the custom context for lore generation, letting your story help the AI figure out what to generate!
Make sure to expand the Add Context option and select Story to do so!
Only have an idea for a generation type, but no input?
No worries, when you just click on Generate > without typing anything, the AI will come up with something and fill in your Input Text as well!
The new Lorebook generation now allows you to input custom types and uses the AI Model and Preset set on the defaults tab of your settings menu for its generations!
Tabbed Settings & Docking
We’ve made it as easy as possible to remove the visual clutter by confining Entry, Placement, and Phrase Bias into their own tabs, which are arranged to your own liking with docking! The Docking feature allows you to show what you want — when you want!
This is for Desktop only at this time, and your screen needs to be wide enough to feature all the docking information!
Fresh Paint for the Default NovelAI theme.
Our designer, TabloidA, held us at gunpoint, so we’ve finally introduced a new palette of colors.
This will only affect you if you have the default theme set! Users with edited or custom themes will not be affected.
Our designer has generously allowed us to provide the old settings as Legacy themes in the list, to prevent rioting from our users.
You can easily find and revert the change in your Theme Settings.
After a year of research, we’d like to introduce the perfect button to fix all your problems. You can find the Placebo button in the User Settings under AI Settings…
Press Kit
We’ve also added a Press Kit page. If you are creating content with or about NovelAI and want to implement our logos and branding, that’s where you’d find them!
End of Sequence Tokens (EoS) to Stop Sequences Change:
End of Sequence Token has been replaced with Stop Sequences
Stop sequences work like EoS with three notable differences:
You can have multiple sequences (up to 8)
They can be one or more tokens
When before the minimum output length, the EoS token was effectively banned and would be prevented from being output. Stop sequences will instead be permitted to be output before stopping the generation.

We’re very excited to hear your thoughts on these changes, and we hope they will enhance your ability to build your worlds using the Lorebook!
