Video version of the following blog:
Heya! We’re back for the second AetherRoom devlog, and this time we’ll quickly cover the general composition of AetherRoom’s Contacts.
Cosmetic

Name
The name of your Contact. This is how everyone sees your Contact and the name they’ll respond to.
Description
A short summary of who/what your Contact is. Used in social applications around AetherRoom to give users a basic idea of your Contact.
Visual
Emotions

A series of 24 images (emoji visuals subject to change) that represent how your Contact is feeling at any given time. In-chat, the Contact will switch to these images depending on how they’re feeling during their messages to you.

Visual Description/Appearance

A description of what your Contact looks like; How they dress, their eye color, skin tone, etc.
Character
Persona

A general field to describe your Contact; Their personality, interests, behavior, background, etc.
Greeting

The first message your Contact sends in a started chatroom. Pretty heavily determines how your Contact responds in further messages.
Example Dialog

A series of short and uniquely written interactions that further determine:
- general writing style
- nuances for responding under certain emotions/situations
- character-defining traits
Despite being messages themselves, these are never directly reference-able by the Contact.
Extras
Relationship

Determines the Contact’s relationship with the user. Can be defined as either Stranger, Acquaintance, Close, or Romantic.

Species, Gender, and Pronouns
Species defines the Contact’s species of origin.
Gender + Pronouns defines the Gender of the Contact and how they prefer to be referenced as.
User Personas

Most of the above fields will also be available to the user to set for themselves. While we may not initially, we do want to eventually let people set multiple different personas that they can switch between.
That’s pretty much it for this devlog. Definitely short n sweet and potentially undercooked, but we wanted to get something out for y’all. Let us know what you want to see in the future and I’ll see what I can do ❤
Cya in the next one!
